Welcome to the department of English language at Hillside Schools-Naalya. The department is comprised of a 39 witty staff that provide linguistic and language proficiency to the youngsters. The Department has taken upon itself the mission of working zestfully and resourcefully to impart the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing to students.
Our vision is to develop the department as a center of academic excellence through teaching and research that nurture literary sensibilities, language competences and critical thinking. We are proud to identify as the top department of the land since, for quite a long period now, we have done the hugely insurmountable task of leading and cementing the top spot as far as PLE results are concerned.
In last year’s (2022) PLE results, for instance, 98% of our 638 candidates attained a score leading to the award of a distinction while 97%, 96%, 99% were the percentages in 2020, 2019 and 2018 respectively. As a department, we have kept our eyes on the prize, focusing on the focus and we keep keeping so as to strive for excellence.
